The purpose of this blog is to enable those who are interested to follow the exploits of a middle aged woman and a 9 year old boy as they spend a year on the Isle of Lewis. We arrived in Jan 2009, and will be here until end Jan 2010. I work from home, N attends the school in Lochs…..and we are very happy to be “living the dream”

I have just finished reading all your blogs starting at the end and working back to the beginning. I never think to start the other way! Therefore I know what is happening before it happens-if that makes sense. I Live in CT in the USA and have visited Scotland 4 times. I would love to own a wee cottage on one of the islands or at least spend an extended amount of time there in a rental. So you are living my dream and I am enjoying every moment. Thank you!

You probably won’t remember, but my parents and I met you and your friends in June while visiting the Arnol Blackhouse Museum. My mom has been pestering me ever since to come check out your blog and I’ve only had time to do so now. So this is a hi from Harriet, Carel and Dallien from South Africa! Lewis and Harris was such a wonderful experience that we will surely visit again. There is surely something magical about it! The pictures I took there are some of my favourites of Scotland. If you like, I’ll send you some of them. We saw your friends again on the ferry to Ullapool on Monday morning and we had a lovely chat. I’m happy to say that we enjoyed every moment we had in Scotland and our hearts are poorer for leaving it. It was nice meeting you and I wish you all the best for the future. Enjoy living the dream!
