Cheshire Peat Stack
I meant to add this picture when I posted last weekend about our peat cutting trip, but I forgot
Over Easter we went back to Cheshire for N to spend time with his Dad. My neighbours were obviously keen to make me feel at home, and to remind me of the Hebrides. They kindly put up a peat stack on the “moor” (or garden!) just for me
How kind!

Nice one! Just as well you’re not Welsh or they might have had a pile of coal out for you. Or a pit pony.
That was nice of them
It looks so small and lonely amongst all those big houses
Is that dug up turf? I’m impressed!
Yes, it’s dug up turf…..think they are actually making a flower bed but it made me think of peat stacks up here
What a great name for a boy, Pete Stacks.
I hope they plant bright flowers in that bed!
Once upon a time, Rusty, and maybe still, there was a band in Shetland called Pete Stack and The Rayburns.
Really FC? I can feel my google finger getting poised to have a look!
I have googled and it says they were a blues band. Must see if I can find a way to hear them.
